Largemouth Bass have no eye lids and they don’t like sun. In the day time bass are normally in deep water, inactive (most likely suspended which makes it hard to get the bait in front of them).
Your goal is to entice them into striking.
At night on Lake Guerrero, the largemouth bass are normally within a few feet of the bank feeding.
In the day time bass strike by sight. At night, they are attracted by noise
(bait hitting the water), smell, vibration, and sight.
Their senses are all heightened because this is when they feed.
Most of the time, it is hot and sunny in Mexico. Fishing is concentrated on early morning trying to
catch the largemouth bass that are late leaving the shallows or evening trying to catch the early
arrivals in the shallows.
The advantage night fishing, there is no pressure to fish fast for a short feeding time,
YOU HAVE ALL NIGHT!! It can be very pleasant at night, you don't have the sun beating down on you and
the winds are normally calmer. We supply a shielded lantern that make casting and retrieval easy.
Unlike most lakes,
Lake Guerrero is famous for not having mosquitoes.
Picking the right bait is simple when fishing at night on Lake Guerrero,
it is Worm..Worm..Worm.. Texas Rig only, no Carolina Rigs.
Where to fish is simple. In most areas, put your worm within a foot of the bank!! We have up to date
satellite maps showing where to fish.
(Remember the lake varies 40 foot from high water to low water)
We provide you with 2) 17 1/2 million candle power spot lights and a walkie talkie for the
client and guide to communicate between boats,
or if you have a problem you can radio the camp and get help. We supply
a loaded GPS for each boat that has fishing areas and routes preloaded.
The lake is Big and we at Bass Trophy Lodge want to insure that you don’t get lost,
we would hate for you to miss one of our famous meals.

You want a Trophy Black Bass!! Unlike other camps in Mexico, we don’t consider a 10 pounder a trophy.
It is the upper end of the medium size fish.
Three years ago a gentleman from Monterey caught a largemouth bass over 20 pounds.
If you are night fishing, our boats will most likely be the only boats on the lake at night,
so we will have the lake to ourselves.
Between our head guide (the best on the lake for 20 years), Jim, Betty, and Terry
(our fishing advisors and orientation speakers), there is 90 years experience of fishing on Lake Guerrero.
Half of that at night!!
No sun screen or bug spray is needed, remember bass have a keen sense of smell.
You don’t want to have any chemicals or smells on your hands other
than the anis oil or power bait oil. Period.
