Trophy Bass Fishing Tackle & Techniques

Ø     We have a tackle shop stocked with bulk lines, worms, hooks ( already JB Welded) and sinkers.

Ø     We have an orientation to familiarize fisherman with the best techniques for fishing Lake Guerrero.

Ø     We believe in worm fishing at night at  Bass Trophy Lodge.

Ø     We believe in night fishing most of the year especially in the eight  HOT, HOT months.

Ø     Remember, bass do not have eyelids and they do not much like the bright sun.

Ø     The big "Girls" feed mostly at night.

Ø     It is usually pleasant at night, and we have shielded lanterns that make casting easy.

Ø     There are few to no mosquitoes on the lake.

Ø      May flies can be bothersome and other flying bugs will comment suicide on the lantern. 

                             However, most of the time you won't be bothered.

Ø      We willsupply you with 2) 17 1/2 million candle power spot light, cell phone and a GPS with routes and waypoints.

Ø     Where the trees are out of the water around a boat lane, we will have reflective tape (2 colors) to show the paths.

      However, you do not run on plane though these areas at night, only in designated areas.

•  Rod---Medium or Heavy only, no flimsy rod. Setting a hook in a big fish takes a hard hit for a mouth set! (6’ or 6-1/2’)
•  Reel--- Bait casting reel with drag tightened as tight as you can get it with one hand.
•   Line---We suggest 40 lb. Power Pro, NO Mono at night! You can not set a hook in the hard part of the  mouth with mono and you can not feel most taps.
• Hooks---We suggest buying them from us. The hooks will be JB Welded and stiff. You will break off if the hooks are not JB Welded. Not every time, but likely on your "Would Be Trophy"!
•    Bait---WORMS, Worms, and more worms! Crank Bait such as DB3 can catch Trophies, but most cranks will not hold a big bass. We believe Wave Worms, Color Christmas Tree, Tiki Stick, and Ribbon Tail in brown, green, and maroon are the best! Power worms by Beckley are next, 10" Watermelon, Pumpkin Seed, and Maroon shades are best. Currently the bass have been biting flukes and green lizards, No Black! Garlic will discourage any bites.
• Nets---We supply a 32" foldable net. Trophy's can be lost by not having a big enough net!
• Lighting---We supply you with 2) 17 1/2  million candle power spot lights and a shielded lantern with holder.
• GPS---We furnish a hand held unit loaded with our lake's information.
• Please note that Propane Bottles and Replacement Mantels are an additional change.

 Refundable deposit required on GPS, Nets, Lanterns, etc. We supply these items at no charge, but if you lose them we will have to charge you (a reasonable amount).
