BASS TROPHY LODGE, MEXICO FISHING
TROPHY BLACK (LARGEMOUTH) BASS
GENERAL INFORMATION ON BOAT AND TACKLE
We encourage you to bring your own boat. Why? Because you purchased a nice boat with all the compartments to keep your boat organized. It has all the features that you wanted. You didn't buy a camp boat, all of the camp boats in Mexico are similar. You will enjoy fishing more out of your own boat. You can still have a guide, in fact we require it the first time on the lake for each client (night fishing only, first night).
It is less money with your own boat.
We have a movable ramp that makes pulling the boat out of the water each night easy and fast.
We fill out your visa for you and make sure you have all the documents in order. We label each document in English and Spanish for you and supply the information for crossing the border at a little known crossing that is quick and easy (half an hour normally). We will supply you with a phone number for Mexican insurance that costs about $2.00 - $ 20.00 per day or yearly if you come down enough. An easy to read map to the lake or for $95.00, we will send a man to ride in with you and handle your visa. Please trust me it's not necessary. It takes about 2 1/2 hours to get to the camp, just follow the Victoria signs. Detailed map included, with pictures of turns.
I have been coming to Lake Guerrero, Mexico trophy bass fishing for 20 years and I get the same response from most people. What about the banditos? Let me explain, read your local newspaper or watch your tv news. Crime is rampant in the United States. In Mexico, you do not want to go to jail, that includes the Mexicans. I have never had a problem and I leave my boat in the water all day unattended without locking it. Caution, do not bring any guns, bullets, or illegal drugs into Mexico, unlike the USA, they are very strict on that. Otherwise, you will find the Mexico experience in our area very pleasant. It is true that Mexico City and the West Coast has some serious crime, but we don't have problems around Lake Guerrero or Victoria.
The #1 reason fisherman don't hook a big fish worm fishing is because 95% of the time they don't set the hook hard enough!!! In our orientation, you will be in a money contest with other fisherman in hook setting. The soul purpose is to get you to put the hook through the very hard cartilage.
Bass Fisherman brag about how many times they get broken off by a BIG FISH??? I can't remember the last time one of us got broke off. If you use the right line and JB Weld the gap in the right hook. You tie the knot properly, you won't break period. You break off because something is wrong. Jim put a 12 lb. bass on the grass and had a fisherman put a hook in the side of it's mouth and tried to set the hook at 15 ft. with 20 pound Mono line. He could not do it. Jim did the same with Power Pro Line at 30 ft. and got a good hook set. We have dozens of things we can show you to help catch a Trophy Largemouth Bass.
You may only have one chance at monster, Trophy Bas. DON'T BLOW IT!!
We supply you with a BIG Folding Net, Shielded Lantern and holder, Two Million Candle Power Spot Light, GPS Unit and a Cell Phone.
We have 12 boats for the camp that have been restored.
They have been sanded and gel coated, new floors, and carpet, even where the guide sit. We put a bracket for a 17.5 million candle power spotlight on the front and holders for shielded lanterns on the back. We put 2 NES batteries in the battery boxes in each boat.

We bought new trolling motors and manufactured trolling motor brackets. We permanently wired the boat with a depth finder in the front. We purchased 31” landing nets that fold up and are out of the way. We have a GPS , measure and certified scales in the boat. We have many other things for the boat for night fishing. We replaced all coolers with taller ones for more drinks, that take up the same space.

We are digging a 35 foot wide channel with our Back Hoe going out into the lake with a breakwater on each side covered with used carpet turned upside down, which will keep the waves from washing it away and make a super nice place to keep the boats and get in without muddy feet.

We also put styrofoam in each boat under the sides so they will never sink.
We have built a movable launching pad. We have hired the two top guides on the lake full time and they will supply us with the top guides as well as scout for better fishing areas when they aren’t guiding.
